*The Bona Sera Supper Club* is proud to announce our first summer dinner of 2010, a Bluegrass BBQ!  This June 26th dinner will feature some fabulous entertainment and... A PIG ROAST.  Bona Sera is busy building a special pit to roast our 80-100 pound pig.  Our "meat guy", Gary from Natural Local Food Express, has been supplying us with some of the best local meats available for almost every Bona Sera supper.

Come celebrate summer with Bona Sera.  In addition to a great dinner, we will be joined by some surprise local entertainment and the evening will be closed out with some SKA  from Ann Arbor's own Space Based Adventure!

Check out Soup Stock PDF Print E-mail

Bona Sera would like to show our support and interest in Soup Stock, and if you haven't heard about them yet, here's a blurby from the Love Factory's blog:

"Soup Stock is a monthly soup event where guests contribute a donation in return for a bowl of soup and the opportunity to decide how their funds will support the local creative community.  The proposals submitted will be reviewed at the next Soup Stock event voted on by those in attendance."

We think they have a great idea and we'll be making some soup for them at one of their upcoming events...we'll post here when we find out a definite date.

Please check them out and consider helping out your local creative community!

Thank You for Your Support of the Big One PDF Print E-mail
The Bona Sera crew would like to thank everyone who supported, attended, participated, and dressed in drag of course for our last dinner on September 19th.  We all had a great time enjoying the wonderful show, food and beautiful home.  Thanks to the crew, our host and all of our performers.  The Big One...The Night of 100 Drag Queens was our most  challenging event yet! Supporting two local AIDS Service Organizations and seating over 50 diners.  We were able to raise a substantial amount split between AIDS Partnership Michigan and HIV/AIDS Resource Center.  Your contributions were appreciated by both organizations.

Get ready and mark your calenders for our next dinner.   This dinner is planned for December 5th and will be an experience you do not want to miss!  "Bad Fairy does Italy" will be our next dinner themed around Bad Fairy's trip to Italy.  She will be leaving us this week for a 17 day tour of Italy.  Tune into bonaserasupperclub.com to catch her blog and pictures of her exciting adventures. Our dinner on December 5th will feature Bad Fairy's culinary experiences. Bad as she is we think she may be smuggling in some ingredients...we hear it is porcini season....sshhhh!

This dinner will also benefit a local community organization Alternatives for Girls Alternatives (AFG), a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization located in southwest Detroit, Michigan, serving homeless and high-risk girls and young women.  Since 1987, AFG has provided critical services to program participants, including safe shelter, educational support, vocational guidance, mentoring and counseling. The goal is to empower girls and young women to make positive choices. AFG helps them repair their lives, rescue their dreams and restore their faith in the future. You can check out their web site to learn more about them :http://www.alternativesforgirls.org/index.html.

Stay tuned to our web site for more info and tickets will go on sale during the last 2 weeks of November.  Thanks again for all of your support.  See you at dinner!

Eggplant NapoleanWe want to thank everyone who attended the Bona Sera Supper Club's first dinner.  We had a great time preparing the food and we hope everyone enjoyed the dinner!  From the comments you left we heard that:  the mini antipasta was a great starter, the carbanara was to die for, the duck melted in your mouth and everyone wanted just one more piece of cake.  Thank you to our fabulous musicians and to all of our volunteer crew:  David for offering up his beautiful home, Kurt who came all the way from Chicago to help the kitchen crew, Mary the kitchen fairy for making everything happen, Bill who made that incredible cannoli cake, Lynda for her fabulous hosting, Moira for her photos and Adriane, Chris and Anita for serving.
